WHAT IS THE MUD
The MUD is a local government with a primary responsibility to provide water utility services to the District. The city of Cedar Park provides our clean water and treats our wastewater. This MUD does not operate facilities that do this. However, we do have 3 lift stations that we are responsible for maintaining along with requirements and obligations for a healthy storm water system. We also have parks, ponds, and trails to maintain. We have several contracted employees that take care of these services.
RESPONSIBILITY OF MUD BOARD MEMBER
Board members are responsible for providing effective leadership that enables staff to develop and implement necessary managerial programs, policies, procedures, and plans, and as such are expected to attend Board meetings and participate in Board activities regularly. Board members ensure the District is staffed appropriately, well maintained, meets all state and federal requirements, and is prepared to serve the current and future needs of the community.
Texas Water Code Section 54.102 States: To be qualified to serve as a director, a person shall be at least 18 years old, a resident citizen of the State of Texas, and either own land subject to taxation in the district or be a qualified voter within the district.
